So, as I am recuperating, all caught up on TV and too zoned out to read anything I want to remember tomorrow, I get conned into watching a film my SO needs to see for a class he's teaching (Jesus in Film). So, next thing I know, Godspell is in the DVD player and SO is singing along, returning to his musical loving roots. And suddenly I say, "hey, Jesus looks familiar." And lo and behold. I bring you good tidings of great cross-over joy. Victor Garber, a very young Victor Garber, a.k.a. Spy-Daddy, is Jesus. Nice hands, pretty singing voice and a hop, skip and loving jump around the Gospel of Matthew. Suddenly I have a whole new perspective on Spy-Daddy raising Sloane from the dead.

Baby Spy-Daddy was very cute. Adult Spy-Daddy owns my world, so suddenly watching Godspell became a whole new, and fun, experience. I may be the last person to know this, but it still made my entire, sick-a-bed weekend.

You know, I have sung Godspell in a million choirs, and never actually seen the movie (or even play). But for Victor Garber...

Speaking of Jesus [g], did you read the Jesus Chris Superstar story in Yuletide? Did I put it on the list of must reads? I can't remember. If I didn't, let me know, and I'll send you the URL.

I just had a hugely embarrassing, "it took me 4 hours to realize he's...". Anna played the Battlestar Galactica miniseries for me (and I loved it, and I'm going to watch the series), and only in the last scene did I realize that Apollo was *Archie* in Hornblower. Sad when the mind goes, isn't it...

So, get better, eh? I haven't forgotten that I owe you a DVD, either, I'm just lame and haven't gotten around to rewiring so that my DVD players will talk to each other.

You have my condolences for having to sing those songs. I loathe Day by Day with a white hot disdain. Still, Victor Garber was so cute. The film is really an experiment about what happens if you give 10 hippies a camera and a permit to be in NYC at dawn for several days. There is a scene shot from the top of the WTC that is both poignant and ironic now (the song is what makes the irony, imho). The film was made just after the two towers were completed in 1973. It came out the same year at Superstar and consequently didn't fare as well.

I'm watching Jesus Christ Superstar in class tonight and will read the story after I've seen the musical (again).

I hope it's JCS 2000 - even if you don't like the music, with the sound off there is much slashiness, as well as blood and beating and angst and angst. Which you will not find in the fantasy of 1976. Or whenever the original movie was made. I love the new one - guns and leather and all. And do have a look at the vid link that morgandawn posted a day or so ago.

You have less than a month to get absolutely well, ok?

Alas, it's not JCS 2K it's the older version. Randy's very excited because the older version was filmed in Israel and uses the landscape, la-de-da. And I can't remember which gospel is highlighted, but he thinks the repsence of the landscape is Very Important. I will look for the vid, thanks for the rec.

I will be absolutely well in less than a month in order to have the maximum amount of fun with you!
