Apr. 28th, 2003 03:15 amIt was twenty years ago today...
TWENTY YEARS AGO I was just at the end of my first year of college. I loved it.
TEN YEARS AGO I was applying to PhD programs and visiting Yale, Brown, Drew and University of Chicago. Many bad choices were both avoided and made. I'm back at Claremont (where I started graduate school -- >20 and <10 years ago)
FIVE YEARS AGO I was taking my qualifying exams for my PhD in the History of Xnty.
THREE YEARS AGO I had my first full-team teaching job, teaching college students all about religion and secular humanism in America at a local small liberal arts college.
ONE YEAR AGO I was teaching part-time and starting to seriously wonder if I will ever (be allowed to) finish my dissertation.
YESTERDAY I went to the movies and hung out with dear friends.
TODAY I'm stressing out about my very sick diabetic cat. We had an emergency vet run and his time may be (and probably is) short.
TOMORROW I'll be at work and still trying not to think about my sweet cat, my lack of dissertation progress and the approach of summer.
