I'm Still Standing...well, mostly
Jun. 30th, 2004 12:10 amThis is just to keep this journal alive and send up a signal that I am, in fact, not dead.
I'm nearly caught up on my sleep (strange not to need 4 cups of coffee before 10 am).
I'm catching up on Smallville and Stargate (finally).
I've started watching all the Joan of Arcadia I can TiVO (eyes
flummery with a wary but happy smile). I think I may even be able to use some of the episodes in a class next spring.
I'm writing my diss.
I'm planning my week vacation in Oaxaca Mexico. Mostly what I'm trying to do is not plan, as I usually treat vacation as "intensive learning experiment" rather than "time for rest and relaxation."
I have submitted a drabble to the
remus_remix and I am both nervous and excited as I have not written any fanfiction in a couple of years. Honestly, I have several drafts of stories that are less than half finished from other diss writing binges. It seems that when my dissertation is moving along, I tend to write other stuff as well. But this is very exciting.
Plus, I'm apparently having a summer, which I haven't done in 5 years. I always teach summer school, but in light of needing to finish the d, I am sitting around reading and writing this summer.
I will try to both post and have more interesting things to say.
