struggling not to be a statistic
Oct. 13th, 2003 09:40 ambut all I really want to do is embrace my statistical (seeming) inevitability and read Dissipation and Despair, watch tv and turn my brain to jello.
Studies show that 50 percent of people [both men and women] who begin a doctorate drop out at the dissertation-writing stage. Statistic from Sistermentors.
I got up at 6:30 this morning and right now I have 6 loads of clean laundry and 3 sentences to show for it. I shoulda maybe slept in after all.

Good luck. I know it's awfully hard to feel that anything is ever finished, or even coherent, but sometimes it does happen.
But that's a great stat, honey!
